Prom 2014

My first time doing Prom pictures! It was an adventure to say the least and it was pretty dang cold... and obviously we were lacking some sleeves. Kindly, the gentlemen offered their jackets to their dates. :) I do have more images, and I'll try to remember to resize them, throw a watermark on them and share them! I have a few other photo sessions I need to get caught up with!!

Portrait Party... aka Photo Partay!!

I am super behind on posting images from the past few sessions, but these girls are dying to see their pictures, so I'm "throwing" them up here! 

We laughed a lot as these girls worked the camera. :) Really, they're just naturally beautiful girls and getting incredible shots of them was easy peasy. 

My sister (the first one pictured) will be going back to Hawaii at the end of the month and wanted some fallish pictures before she leaves (haha pun not intended)! The colors weren't as brilliant as we had hoped, but obviously we got some good shots even if they don't scream Autumn! 

Honestly, so much fun!

Venture off the beaten path

These cute girls are my boys' favorite babysitters! We traded some baby sitting for a photo shoot, and sure had some fun last week. McKaida's cute headband matched beautifully with the spot we found, and she worked it! This was the first time Jorie took pictures with me and it took her a minute to warm up, but once she did, she rocked it! We will definitely be doing this again! I would love to do photo sessions in this same spot in each season... just sayin', girls...

I am in love with these images. We woke up bright and early (for a Saturday) complete with some Del Taco hashbrowns and caught some gorgeous morning light, in a spot we just happened upon. True Story. I heard the little brook and ventured off the beaten path to find this tiny clearing that was pure magic! The smells, the sounds, the light... We could have stayed there all day! ...but we filled up my SD card... so until next time!!

Pretty Colors. Pretty Girls.

 

 

There is so much that I love about Fall!

Obviously, the gorgeous colors that give off the last ray of life, like it's trying to tell us, "Don't forget that there will be life and beauty again... just get through the winter!" Yes. Just get through the winter.

I love that the weather cools off and I can wear my cute sweaters that have been hanging out in my closet since April (remember, I was in Hawai'i in May). Oh yes, and my boots, too. Don't forget to get out those boots! 

And who doesn't love going out and taking pictures in the Fall?!?! Whether it's professionally done or not, who can resist the landscape and playing in the fallen leaves?! Well, obviously if you live in Hawai'i, you are missing out on a thing or two... 

Actually... let's make that one thing. Juuuuuust one. You trump everything else. :-)

Clearly, McKaida and Abbi were awesome to work with! How easy was it for me when these girls are so dang cute?! So. easy. The hardest part about the shoot was racing the light. Apparently, the sun is setting sooner and if you go up into the mountains on the other side of the sun... you're going to get cold and it's going to get dark even earlier. Lesson. Learned. (Again.)

Anyway, we had fun. The girls were awesome. We found some colorful spots that were accessible. I am super duper pleased with these images... so pretty much life is great! 

If you're in a place to enjoy the Fall colors, I hope you do! It will be so good for your soul. 

And if you live in Hawai'i, or somewhere that doesn't really have "seasons"... well, you're lucky. Go to the beach or something. That's good for your soul, too. :-)

 

Girls Night… a photo shoot adventure.

  

Meet Tiffany, Brittani and Amber. They’re my friends. (Yes, I have friends and it’s awesome!). Sorry guys (if there are even any single men who read this, lol), these ladies are happily married with really really cute kids!

We decided to have a girls night and I suggested *ahem* that we have a photo shoot!  Each of their reactions were the same, hesitant,  “Uhhh… really? okay…” I had to get them as excited as I was!  All of these girls are super fun and beautiful! I knew they would have a blast  once they decided to!  I even suggested they watch a few episodes of America’s Next Top Model to get inspired… lol.

I know it’s a little difficult for moms to have all the attention, but freaking-A (what does that even mean, anyway?) they deserve it! I think we figured out that the last time they had had a photo shoot (that wasn’t with their children/family- just them!) was either their Senior Portraits in high school or Bridals when they had gotten married! They were so due. And I was itching for a photo shoot. It all worked out great!

We laughed so hard (you know when your head starts hurting because you’re using those random muscles in your jaw – yeah! That.much. laughing!) and just went with it. It  was so much fun for me to observe and capture the different personalities and see this side of them! And I was thrilled to get some stunning portraits all the while! We were anticipating some rain and darn it – the rain didn’t even come! We were (okay, I was) up for anything!

I’ll do it again. Hopefully, those who couldn’t join us this time will see how much fun it can be and want to be there next time (and I won’t even say I told you so…)
