I love those feet

Toes for days!

I love these feet. I love the tiny ones and the bigger ones (though they are all still pretty small). I love that their toes look like little squishy balls.

Oh yeah, and their feet are clean! (But wouldn't that be an image with muddy dirty feet in my clean white bed!)

With 4 boys ages 1-7 this image is kind of a miracle in itself. They were cooperative, and even excited about it. I have an image similar to this of my oldest two that hangs on our wall, and they were happy to try to recreate the image with their younger brothers :)

But those feet! I love their feet! I am grateful for their feet.

Those feet that they stand on, run on, walk on, climb with, kick with (yes, sometimes each other)...

Those feet that will support them throughout their lives. Who knows what grand adventures those feet will take them on! Some they will go on together, others on their own.

Those feet. My GOSH I love those feet.

Ringling Bros, The Greatest Show on Earth

The Circus was incredible!! My husband's uncle travels with the circus as one of the musicians (did you know all their music is live?!) so we all go to see it when he comes to town!

It's absolutely magical.

We ate way too much cotton candy and popcorn, and danced and laughed and cheering and whooped and were anxious then relieved and amazed! After just about every act, my 4 year old would yell that was totally awesome! And it was. Yes, it was!

My husband and I agreed that our favorite acts were the Lions and Tigers (HOLY.SMOKES.), the Shaolin Kung-Fu Masters, and any act with the clowns. The horses made me nervous (A few of them were having an "off" night and one in particular was not cooperating... but it made it all that much more exciting!!!) The Elephants are always fascinating. The Trapeze did not disappoint... nothing did. AH! It was all soooo cool!

The lighting was difficult to work with and mostly I just wanted to absorb it all, but I did get these two images that I am pleased with, so I'll share them.  They are from the pre-show on the floor.

Hot Hot HOT Springs...

Like, these springs would boil you alive! (Too graphic? Sorry.)

But dang are they stunning! The colors were absolutely breathtaking (and not just because of the muggy steam the springs were producing... which was kind of nasty sometimes.)

A lot of the springs at Yellowstone National Park were intimidating, actually. It made me nervous to think of all the damage it would cause if someone got careless (maybe that's just the paranoid mama side of me).

However, I'm so glad we took the detour to see them! Wow. Wow. Wow!

Bubbles!

One of my personal goals for my photography is to shoot more! Just get out and shoot!  I adore portrait photography, but it’s fun and exciting to branch out!  One thing I have always loved about photography is finding the beauty in the little things… and learning my camera has made it possible to capture them the way I see it!  It’s a work in progress, but I’m excited about it!

Water Droplets

I finally got around to playing around with this idea, and I love it! It was so much fun! Even with my boys trying to get into the water and practically giving me a heart attack for worry that they might spill on my  camera… it was very cool. I wish I would have been able to steal a little more time to try a few different things… but I suppose I will just have to do it again another time!  I’m sure I gave my boys more then a few ideas that will torment me for weeks (years?) to come… but  it was worth it.

The Living Planet Aquarium

 

My boys and I love The Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy, Utah. After being there a good number of times, I finally brought my camera. I love the tropical fish and the bright colors. It was a great learning experience for me with all the different lighting throughout the aquarium; really low light (not one of my strong points yet), really bright lights and moving objects... it was fun.

Can't forget about this little guy! He's almost 3 months old, and way cuter than any stuffed animal I've ever seen! He was sleeping 95% of the time I was watching him, but he glanced up for just a few moments, and I caught this! Needlesstosay, I am stoked! He's going to be a big cat one day! But he's gorgeous!

Baby Giraffe part 2 {Utah Photographer}

Newborn Giraffe and Mommy

On July 30, 2009 a giraffe was born at the Hogle Zoo in Utah! We happened to be visiting the next day and got to see this brand new guy! He is so cute! He won't be so little for long. Giraffe's grow an inch a day when they are first born. It was so tender watching the mommy nursing and getting the baby to walk around. It amazing how instinctive motherhood is!  Definitely not something you see everyday!

We took a trip to the zoo the other day, and I was able to snap a few priceless pictures! It's interesting how even the most mundane "scenes" can still be a part of beautiful images! 

Temple Square

  

It was so beautiful! Cold, but beautiful! It was a nice outing with 2 of Cameron's sisters, and their little families! It was a good chance to practice some night-time photography! Cameron bundled up Ezekiel and pretty much zipped him up in his jacket, and Ziek slept the whole time. Makoa was bundled up in the stroller but then he got out and ran around with his Auntie Emi until he was totally freezing cold, then he shared the stroller with his cousin, Kiki. It was cute. Did I mention it was cold? We didn't last too long, but long enough to enjoy the beautiful lights, and get back into the cars before our exposed skin was frozen to the point it had no feeling at all!   

Toy Cars

My husband, Cameron recently bought himself a '72 Oldsmobile Cutlass. No, this is not it. ;) He's trying to brainwash my 21 month old into loving muscle cars and bought him these models. They were sitting in the window sill just like this, and I had to snap it. It was like they were on display at some car show... how would a 21 month old know what the heck an engine is?! He was checkin' it out, nonetheless!
